Coach Aaron Gingrich is a lifelong resident of Mifflin County, graduating from Lewistown Area High School in 1990.  Aaron ended his basketball career at Lewistown as the school’s all-time leading scorer.  Coach Gingrich graduated from Dickinson College in 1994, finishing as a 4-year basketball letter winner, team captain, and earning a spot in the school’s record book in foul shooting percentage, 3-point percentage and 3-pointers made.  Aaron began his coaching career as a varsity assistant with the Lewistown girls’ basketball team in 1994.  During the four years Aaron assisted head coach Kevin Kodish, the girls captured 2 PIAA state titles, and compiled an overall record of 118-7.   In 1998, Coach Gingrich was hired as the varsity boys’ basketball coach at Lewistown Area High School.   During his tenure as varsity boys’ coach, his teams made multiple state playoff appearances, including a PIAA western semi-final appearance in 2004.  Aaron also coached several all-state players during his time at Lewistown, Joe Stewart and Matt Hilton.  Hilton is still Mifflin County’s all-time boys scoring leader, with over 2,300 career points.  In 2011, Coach Gingrich was named the varsity boys’ basketball coach at the newly formed Mifflin County High School.  Gingrich coached four seasons at Mifflin County before stepping down in 2014.  Coach Gingrich is currently the all-time leader in wins for a boys’ basketball coach in our county’s history. 

After stepping away from boys’ basketball in 2014, Coach Gingrich began coaching and training local girls basketball players.  Since 2014, Aaron has coached most of the current, and recently graduated, players from Mifflin County. Coach Gingrich has also served as the head junior high girls’ basketball coach from 2017-2021. Coach Gingrich is employed as Court of Common Pleas Judge in Mifflin County.  He and his wife Shauna, live in Lewistown, and have 3 children, Marissa (17), Maelyn (15), and Marshall (4)…and 2 dogs, Sage and Silo.
